“Has anybody seen that movie, Tron?” – Homer J. Simpson.
Seriously though, has anyone seen it? Ever? I tried watching it twice this last month. Got to the same point both times which was about seven minutes into it. The only thing I appreciated was the nice reference Family Guy made to it which got me thinking “I wonder if this is all Seth McFarlane sat through”.
I do not understand why it’s so unwatchable. But it is. And I just can’t put my finger on it. Much more vertical than usual.
So dear readers, here’s a personal challenge for ye: Rent and watch Tron. See how long you can last. So far the gold medal goes to John-Paul who’s seen the first 13 minutes. DO you accept this Mighty CHALLENGE?! WHO will take the gold in this Mighty BATTLE OF … see? I don’t know how to end that sentence because I don’t even know how to describe why it’s so unwatchable. Give it a go!
Are you intrigued? You’re intrigued!
I reckon if I watched 30 seconds a day for the next couple of months, I could get closer than anyone ever has or ever will to seeing the entire thing.

I actually own Tron. The only thing it has going for it really is its visual effects. The story is really quite boring but I’ll watch it every now and again to appreciate its style. They’re actually making a sequel called TR2N.

You own Tron, Stuart? Get outta town! I must admit, what kept me there for those seven minutes was the style. Like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Quite cool.
And Japes, you do that. I believe in you. I BELIEVE IN YOU!

I dropped my application in to Video Ezy today and the manager said I might be able to start working there next week. Who knows, I might not even have to pay to watch Tron!

I have not seen Tron, but I’ve seen The Mission, does that count?
Seriously, I just watched The Mission yesterday, it’s one of those movies from the 80’s that I missed out on, and I gotta say, it was EXCELLENT. So rather than try to sit through some crap movie, go out and rent The Mission, that is, if you haven’t already seen it. Or if you have, I’d say it’s well-worth a second viewing.

PS: A few days ago, I heard that song “Hello” by Lionel Ritchie come on the radio and it instantly made me think of you.
“You’ve been hurt Lionel… you’ve been hurt… who hurt you Lionel??”
Ha haa! It made me chuckle for a good twenty minutes. Anyway, you’re neat!

Suz, where have you been, dammit?! I haven’t talked to you in AGES! Miss you, Skittles, hope to chat soon!

Sher … I don’t think The Mission was that great. Oh wait, I haven’t seen it yet. What was I thinking of? You know … that one with a young Christian Bale? Empire of the Sun. Yeah, TOO many moments that seemed significant and I couldn’t for the life of me understand why. It was like watching my life when I’m listening to anything by Thomas Newman. If everything’s significant, than nothing is.
Probably could delete all that post …
Anyway, Crommo, Japers and I saw Wall-E. He was not amused. I however, have been listening to the soundtrack since I saw it again and it’s been going down a treat.
And Blobs, tell me how Video Ezy goes! My dream job.

Well Suzy. I believe I expressed an interest in that soundtrack. It seems rude of you to not offer it to me or something.
